Personal Photography Mentoring
with Ute Reckhorn
Feeling stuck or unsure how to express your voice through photography? Whether you’re struggling with a Lensbaby lens or longing for a deeper creative journey, I offer one-on-one mentoring to help you reconnect with your vision. Together, we’ll uncover your style, develop your technical skills, and move you from frustration to confidence.
For the Struggling Lensbaby Lover
Four Weeks* // $300
Lensbaby lenses are amazing tools to create visual art, but what if you don’t know how to start using them? It can be intimidating to use manual specialty lenses because they are very technical and require practice. Moving into confident creative expression with photography is challenging, but not impossible. If you can’t figure out how to express your vision with your brand-new or dusty Lensbaby lens, this in-depth introduction into the world of Lensbaby is for you.
REQUIREMENTS:
This mentoring session requires a solid understanding of your camera and photography basics. (This isn’t a beginners photography class, so please make sure you know how to shoot in manual and have a solid understanding about the exposure triangle).
If you are new to manual photography or need a refresher I recommend taking my basic photography class before registering for this mentoring class.
WHAT YOU’LL GET:
During weekly life video chats I will walk you through the basics of manual focus lenses, pinhole and prism photography. This package includes:
1 Introduction Pre-Session via email or text
4 one hour live video chats (recorded for you to review)
Feedback and question answering between sessions via text or email
At the end of this four week mentoring session you will be able to create beautiful bokeh, know how to use selective focus and bend your vision to match your imagination.
For the Aspiring Artist
Four Weeks* // $300
Are you a hobbyist looking for constructive feedback? Praise and love are extremely motivating but sometimes you need a bit of guidance and a critical eye to improve your work.
REQUIREMENTS:
You have a good eye and your friends compliment your work, yet you feel like your work isn’t developing or perceived the way it should. You want constructive feedback to move your work into a new and meaningful direction. Show me a collection of your favorite images. These can be taken with a dslr, specialty lenses, your iPhone or any camera you have.
WHAT YOU’LL GET:
This is the time to play with your work and talk about your thinking process behind each shoot. Together we will develop collections and go over your strength and discover areas for you to develop as a photographer. This package includes:
1 introductory Pre-Session via email or text
4 live video chats, recorded for you to review (1 hour each)
Feedback on your work over text or email between sessions
At the end of this four week mentoring session you will have a clear action plan and know how to grow your photography skills.
For the Portfolio Builder
Four Weeks* // $300
Are you a hobby photographer uncovering your style?
A portfolio is a great way to put together a reservoir of photos that represent your photography, either for future clients or to learn about your own photographic identity.
REQUIREMENTS:
You don’t need to have a specific agenda or pre-established style. Together we will look through your images and discuss what you want to express and how to achieve that idea.
Before we begin I will send a questionnaire so that I get a first impression of who you are and what your work is about. This mentoring package is based on critique and also offers room for discussion and reflection.
WHAT YOU’LL GET:
You will learn to analyze your work and find underlying themes and connections. Discover what makes your photography unique. Beyond that, you will learn to take photos more creatively. This package includes:
1 introductory Pre-Session via email or text
4 live video chats, recorded for you to review (1 hour each)
Feedback on your work over text or email between sessions
Define and commit to your newfound direction. We will discuss various tools like meditation and journaling to deepen your voice.
*The four weeks do not have to take place consecutively.
Work at your own pace and schedule your next session when you feel ready to move on.
However, these four sessions must be booked within 6 months from when you have purchased your package.
